We follow our handwriting scheme from nursery up to year 2. Children read books matched to their phonological ability both in school and at home. They are also encouraged to read a variety of texts to increase their love of reading. At school we have core books in each year group which to children share, read and enjoy.
We follow the DFE validated phonics teaching programme Super Sonic Phonic Friends which gives us flexibility to plan according to children's needs and enables us to match reading books to the children's phonic capability. Our teachers plan their own maths teaching, supported from schemes alongside their strong subject knowledge to successfully teach the key skills in this area.
We have devised a progressive curriculum to enable planning, sequences and ensure progression of skills and knowledge across all core and foundation subjects. We use whiterose maths and charanga to support maths and music across teh school.
